OVERVIEW:
Splash Camp delivers family-friendly accommodation within the Okavango Delta’s stunning 175,000-hectare Kwara Private Concession, bordering Moremi Game Reserve. There’s a private space for exclusive-use groups, ideal for those traveling with young children, and the camp offers plenty of activities to keep everyone engaged. Operated by Kwando Safaris, a well-established safari operator with an extensive camp and lodge portfolio throughout Botswana, Splash Camp is a great year-round option for Kwara, providing excellent game viewing, birding, nature walks, and all-season boating. Accommodation is booked on a full-board basis, including all meals, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, scheduled activities, and a laundry service.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Splash Camp is located in the south-east of the Okavango Delta’s Kwara Private Concession, which shares a 30 kilometres water boundary with Moremi Game Reserve. Access to the camp is via light aircraft to Kwara Airstrip (a 30-minute flight from Maun), followed by a 45-minute game drive transfer.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT SPLASH CAMP:
Guest accommodation at Splash Camp consists of ten tented suites and two 2-bedroom family units, all slightly elevated off the ground on wooden platforms with viewing decks that face a permanent pan. The small private verandas have two armchairs and a drinks table, affording guests uninterrupted views of the vast game-rich terrain. Through sliding, mesh-panelled doors, you’ll find an open-plan lounge and bedroom with a toned-down, contemporary style that favours slate grey, pale wood, cowhide, and natural jute rugs. Each contains a ceiling fan, reading lights built into the headboard, a tea-and-coffee facility, a charging station with international multi-plugs, a writing desk, open hanging space and shelving for clothes, a digital safe, mosquito net, insect repellents, and an emergency horn. All rooms can be configured as doubles with super-king, extra-length, or twin beds. Each en-suite washroom has a flush toilet, twin washbasins, and indoor/outdoor showers. Both family units contain two bedrooms – a standard en-suite tent is connected to a smaller room sharing one washroom. An extra bed is available upon request, allowing three children to stay in a family suite. Suites 4, 5, and 6 can be accessed by wheelchair.
Splash Camp has a large open-plan guest area, which includes a lounge, a bar, a small library, and a dining area with views of the waterhole. The dining furniture is set out on wooden decking under a thatched roof from which ceiling fans are suspended. Communal dining takes place at the long table, and outside you’ll find a campfire for pre-dinner drinks and safari-style storytelling. A few steps outside the main area, the tree-fringed swimming pool deck is an excellent spot to cool down during the hotter hours. Last but not least, there’s Splash Enclave, a private area with a private lounge, bar, dining area, fire-pit, and plunge pool – this can be booked exclusively for groups of six to twelve guests and uses four of the camp’s tented accommodations. Please speak to the Yellow Zebra team for more details.

Birding
– There’s plenty to occupy keen birders, including ostrich, sacred ibis, white-breasted cuckoo-shrike, and the beautiful carmine bee-eater. -
