A river cruise on the Zambezi Queen makes a refreshing contrast to the normal land-based safari. Watch herds of elephant come down for a swim while hippos harumph on the bank and crocodiles bask in the sun!

OVERVIEW:
The boat is stunning. It is beautifully decorated in neutrals with African artwork, zebra rugs and (faux!) leopard cushions. Food is fabulous and service excellent. A trip on the Zambezi Queen is a lovely way to view game well away from any crowds. Guests can relax in luxury aboard, while enjoying watching animals come up to the water at dawn and dusk.

ACCESS & LOCATION:
The Zambezi Queen is located about 80 km from Victoria Falls. It operates on the Chobe River with Botswana's Chobe National Park on one side and Namibia's Caprivi strip on the other. This is an area teeming with wildlife, including animals such as buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, hippos, giraffe, sable and waterbuck.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES:
The 14 guest cabins consist of ten suites and four larger master suites. They all have their own private balcony and either twin or king-size beds. They are not air-conditioned due to power restrictions but they have fans and sliding windows with mosquito screens.

ACTIVITIES:
Set departure cruises last for two or three days. This includes a half day excursion in a 4x4, game-viewing in Chobe National Park, and another on a cultural visit to a local village. Guests can also be taken on tenders (small boats) to view game closer to the riverbank, do a spot of bird-watching, or even go fishing for tigerfish or bream.

"The Zambezi Queen is the most luxurious houseboat on the Chobe and a property that tends to surprise our clients every time. It is often a highlight to a trip and best booked with the dry game viewing areas of Linyanti and the Okavango itself."
