OVERVIEW:
It was the first major lodge to be built on Mafia Island and is one of the oldest properties in our portfolio.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Kinasi Lodge nestles amongst cashew trees and overlooks Chole Bay and the islands of Chole, Jimondo and Jimani.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT KINASI LODGE:
It sits on a hillside that runs down to the beach and is built with traditional materials and thatch roofs made out of palms. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with hand-carved furniture, a bathroom and an elevated veranda with a thatch roof to provide some shade.
The dining room and communal lounge are beautifully decorated with East African art, antiques and hand-carved furniture. Although this lodge is pleasant and comfortable, some guests might find it a little dated due to its age.
**Please be aware that the swimming pool here has no depth markings or 'No Diving' signs, so take care before you jump in!**
ACTIVITIES AT KINASI LODGE:
The beach is fairly modest (as are most beaches on Mafia), however there is a well-equipped on-site dive centre and a watersports cabin where guests can arrange sailing, wind-surfing and kayak hire.
