Victoria Falls

Your journey begins at Victoria Falls, with a two-night stay at Wilderness Toka Leya. Tucked inside the quiet riverine forest of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, this camp strikes the perfect balance for a gentle start – it’s far enough from Livingstone to feel blissfully secluded, but close enough that the iconic falls is just a short drive away. Situated on raised decks right on the banks of the Zambezi, the tented suites treat you to front-row seats for the local wildlife… don’t be surprised if resident hippos wander past your veranda for an evening graze. Toka Leya is an ideal spot to unwind after a long-haul flight and get ready for your safari. Relax by the infinity pool, enjoy the spa, and embark on sunset river cruises. Higher-paced activities are also included in your stay, like guided tours of the Falls and catch-and-release fishing. To really get your heart racing at the Falls, white river rafting and bungee jumps are available at an additional cost.

Kafue National Park

On Day 3 of your adventure, you’ll fly to Kafue National Park for the second part of your safari. Wilderness Shumba has a superb location, which overlooks the seasonal floodplains in every direction. It’s built high above the ground and is linked by wooden walkways, with grass roofs and long extended decking. The main area includes a swimming pool, a lounge, a dining and bar area, as well as an outdoor sunken lounge with a star deck, great for stargazing into the night. There are just six luxury suites at Wilderness Shumba, and all are raised on wooden platforms. With a focus on observing the wilderness from all angles, the camp boasts scenic views from your bed, the various seating areas, and even from the outdoor showers! Don’t be surprised if you find lions lounging on your deck! The resident wildlife is often found in and around the camp. While the main activities focus at Wilderness Shumba is game driving, boating safaris are also an option at the start of the season.

Lower Zambezi National Park

The third and final leg of your safari continues with four nights at Chiawa Camp. This is one of Zambia’s premier luxury safari camps. Everything is of the highest standard here, from the sheer quality of guiding and the conservation ethos to the fine dining and hospitality. The communal area is a fantastic wooden two-tiered structure with great views over the river. The tents offer about 100 square metres, and consist of a canvas roof, canvas walls, a super-king bed, a lounge area, and a luxurious bathroom complete with a roll-top bath and twin washbasins. Each of the tents boasts views over the Zambezi River and its vast array of resident wildlife, including elephant, lion, leopard, hippo, and crocodiles. It’s the ideal base for exploring the area, on day and night game drives, walks, and river safaris.
