The hotel can be accessed via 25 minutes’ road transfer from Cape Town International Airport. It’s situated on a peninsula north of the V&A Waterfront, with a backdrop featuring not only the harbor but also Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean!
Communal spaces at The Table Bay include a number of sumptuous lounges.
These generally feature formal settees and armchairs around expansive coffee and occasional tables, beneath sophisticated lighting. One such area, known as The Lounge, is the setting for the hotel’s famous high tea – guests can tuck in to a fine assortment of afternoon treats while marvelling at harbor views through floor-to-ceiling windows! There’s also an exciting variety of restaurants. For example, Camissa Brasserie provides authentic Cape cuisine and The Atlantic offers exquisitely presented breakfasts. Two bars – Union Bar and Pool Bar – draw in the crowds with a fantastic atmosphere and superb range of beverages. These and other spaces within the hotel may be booked for events and business meetings. Keep-fit fans will appreciate access to a well-equipped gym, while anyone in need of a little pampering can head to the spa for massages, mani-pedis, and more. And there’s a very inviting swimming pool, with plenty of sunloungers alongside!
Guest accommodation consists of 238 rooms and suites, in no fewer than 13 categories! All combine Victorian charm and contemporary elements.
At entry level, there are four Luxury Room options, featuring king-size bed or twin beds, bedside storage units and lighting, a writing desk and chair, an en-suite marble bathroom, and gorgeous sea or mountain views! Amenities include air conditioning, black-out curtains, flatscreen satellite television, telephone with voicemail, tea-and-coffee station, mini-bar, electronic safe, Wi-Fi, newspapers on request, hairdryer, 24-hour room service, daily housekeeping, and laundry. The Accessible Room is similarly appointed, with wide entrance into the bathroom and a wheelchair-friendly shower. Next up are the Superior Rooms, among them a room suitable for families. These rooms are sufficiently spacious to offer a separate lounge area. Finally, there are five types of Suite – Junior, Executive, Signal Hill, Lion’s Head, and Table Mountain. Boasting larger living areas still, the suites are recommended for travellers seeking exceptionally lavish accommodation. Lion’s Head Suite includes a Jacuzzi bath, while Table Mountain Suite offers a telescope and a baby grand piano!
