The Rex is very well placed for you to visit all of Knysna’s attractions. Closest to the Hotel is the excellent Waterfront, but many landmarks are located within 10 kilometres. These include the two headlands known as ‘The Heads’, Knysna Forest, Lindsay Castle, and the beautiful beach of Noetsiestrand.

  • The Forest is fabulous for walks, hikes, bikes, and horse rides. If you are feeling particularly energetic, you can take a trek all the way up into the Outeniqua Mountains and look out for an exciting assortment of wildlife – leopard, gray rhebuck, klipspringer, a variety of rodents, and birds galore! You might spot elephant too, and there are further opportunities to mingle with the gray giants at Knysna’s own Elephant Park, where you can enjoy walks and rides.

Inside, the front desk is managed 24/7 and there is also a tour desk where staff members can help you to plan your stay. The on-site restaurant is called The Rose Café. Here you can enjoy an exciting fusion of North African, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean flavours in an elegant setting, flowing through into an outdoor terrace area with a choice of lounge and dining-room seating. It is pleasant to tuck into a light lunch, for example, in this little oasis within the town!

All have air conditioning, LCD television, Wi-Fi, a tea-and-coffee station, a mini-bar, an electronic safe, a hairdryer, and en-suite facilities. Each Standard Room has a bath and no shower in its en-suite, while the King Luxury Studio option has a shower and no bath! All categories apart from the Standard Room boast a kitchenette and a balcony. With the exception of the King Luxury Studio, beds in all rooms may be configured as twins or a double – the King has a double bed. The accommodation throughout all options is beautifully furnished, featuring bedside tables and lighting, and a separate lounge area. The Interleading category is particularly well suited to families!
