Activities are centred on safari, and the day and night drives are the main activities. The walking safaris here are phenomenal, and we would go so far as to say they are the best in the country.
The Makuleke Concession is 26,000 hectares in extent and is bordered by both the Luvuvhu and LimpopoRivers, which attract large numbers of elephant and buffalo in the dry season. All other members of the Big Five are present, as well as many species of antelope and plains game. However, this is not the only reason to travel to this area. The concession protects 80 per cent of Kruger’s biodiversity and is a real birder’s paradise. The combination of fever-tree forests, open floodplains, gaping gorges and massive rivers is quite something to behold.
