While Franschhoek Country House is larger than our preferred boutique options in Franschhoek, it’s family-run and has an award winning restaurant onsite. If you’re looking to base yourself close to the center of town, it’s a good option to consider.

The hotel runs a complimentary shuttle to Franschhoek village, where guests can take the Wine Tram to explore the many vineyards in the area.
Facilities & Amenities
The 12 villa suites are a recent addition to the hotel.
They are very spacious and extremely opulent. They include a lounge, bedroom, ensuite bathroom and two private balconies where guests can sit out and enjoy the views of the surrounding vineyards set against the magnificent backdrop of Franschhoek Mountains. There is a wide choice of rooms at this hotel. The six standard rooms and five luxury rooms in the main building are all extremely comfortable, and most lead out onto balconies or private patios.
The two cottages are ideal for guests with small children. The ensuite bedroom on the first floor has its own private patio area, while upstairs there is a lounge with a foldout bed and a balcony giving spectacular views over the surrounding vineyards.
Food here is exceptional. The restaurant, Monneaux, frequently features in South Africa’s Top 10 Restaurants. It serves a fusion of Western and Eastern influences, often giving a contemporary twist to classic dishes.
