Situated in a beautifully framed mountain valley at the base of the Highmoor Nature Reserve, this is a hotel that focuses on culinary delights and KwaZulu-Natal’s rich history. The owners have recently opened the ‘Copper Pot Spa’ to round off this mountain retreat. Richard and Mouse Poynton deliver a fantastic experience alongside one of the world’s most spectacular grassland mountain ranges.

Richard is an accomplished chef who delights in serving sumptuous 7 course meals, which he says are “all about the taste, fun and passion that goes into country cooking”.
Fortunately, the Farmhouse is situated in wonderful walking country, so guests can enjoy mountain walks to build up an appetite for the fabulous food!
Facilities & Amenities
The 11 rooms are built in converted stables.
They are each individually decorated, although all have mohair blankets, Victorian claw-footed baths and beautiful views. Two of the suites have separate lounges and a third even has a “his and hers” bathroom.
