A land of diversity and contrasts, Namibia lies on the West Coast of Southern Africa. There are two different kinds of safaris which we offer in Namibia for couples – self-drive or fly-in safari.

Self-Drive Dafaris

Self-drive is the most economical way of traveling through the country, and a great option for adventurous couples who want to explore it at their own leisure. However, you don’t need to be adventurous in order to self-drive, as the main attractions in Namibia are easily linked by good roads.

There are areas of Namibia, however, where even the most skilled self-driver can end up in trouble – the far north, especially up as far as the Kunene River, is an area that should not be taken lightly. We suggest that self-drivers focus their time in the camps at SossusvleiSwakopmundEtosha and Damaraland.

Flying Safaris

Flying is much more expensive, but it opens up some areas which are virtually impossible, and certainly inadvisable, to reach in your own vehicle. We highly recommend the incredible Schoeman Skeleton Coast Safaris, whilst Wilderness Safaris also run a couple of camps in the remote areas where the Schoemans operate their trips. The advantage of Wilderness Safaris’ camps is the luxury focus of the camps – a very different approach to the rustic charm of the Schoemans.
