Game drives are possible by day and by night, and you can expect to see species such as lion, leopard, hyena, wild dog, elephant, wildebeest, honey badger, aardvark, and meerkat. If you would like to take a really close look around the Kalahari, you can go on a walking safari and see all the little life forms in the company of a very knowledgeable guide.
Sand biking and horse riding are fantastic for guests hoping to cover a lot of ground.
Fly camping is a great opportunity to retrace the steps of the early explorers. This experience involves a 2-hour game drive out to the Gcwihaba Caves, for dinner around a campfire. The tents are sumptuous dome tents, with all the creature comforts you could desire! In the morning, you can tuck into a picnic breakfast and perhaps explore the caves before returning to the lodge. The ancient series of caverns and passages contains some very intriguing formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and the area around the caves is home to barn owl, gecko, and, appropriately, tent tortoise!
Closer to the lodge, you can visit a Bushman village and learn all about the tribe members’ daily lives.

The open-air lounge contains plenty of comfortable seating around coffee tables, as well as a well-stocked bar.
This area flows out onto a deck, which is often the venue for al fresco dining while marvelling at the Kalahari scenery. Feline Fields has a gym too, also open air and with gorgeous views. The tennis court is set in the bush itself, made out of an abandoned clay termite mound! And the swimming pool, 25 metres in length and flanked by sunloungers, is perfect for cooling off in the heat of the day. Often elephants come to drink at the waterhole just beyond the pool – a very special sight.

Guest accommodation at Feline Fields consists of six suites, specifically three pool suites and three tented suites.
All boast a raised king-size bed, an overhead fan, a separate lounge area with daybed, and well-appointed en-suite facilities. The daybed may be used to sleep additional family members. For a supplement, children aged under 15 years may share a suite with their parents. Each pool suite benefits from a private plunge pool, as well as a staircase up to a thatched veranda. And both categories of suite come with a couple of ‘fat bikes’ – off-road bikes with super-size tyres – at the front door. These bikes are designed for some serious sand biking, which is just one of many activities available at Feline Fields.
