Arusha

On arrival into Tanzania, you’ll spend the first night in Arusha, a great stopover before you head to the Northern Circuit national parks. We’ve suggested staying at Rivertrees Country Inn, a comfortable and characterful lodge with a good location on the Usa river. It has all the amenities needed for a short stay, and you’ll be very comfortable in one of the Garden Rooms. There’s a swimming pool, a massage banda, a restaurant, and a bar to make use of, but please note that this is on a B&B accommodation basis.

Tarangire National Park

After a restful night, you’ll leave Arusha and fly to Tarangire National Park. Here, you’ll spend two nights at Nomad’s Kuro Tarangire, a property with a gorgeous setting amidst trees on the banks of the river. The lodge is all wood and thatch, with open sides and views out into the park. You’ll stay in one of six classic safari tents, and spend your days on game drives and walking safaris. Wildlife in Tarangire includes big prides of lion and huge herds of buffalo, but most importantly, if you visit between July and October, you’ll be in the best position to witness large herds of elephant, when immense concentrations of the grey giants move across the area together in search for water.

Ngorongoro Crater

From Tarangire, you will fly to Lake Manyara Airport and stay at Entamanu Ngorongoro. With one of the best positions on the Ngorongoro Crater rim, Entamanu is a superb blend of authentic luxury, high guiding standards, and classic safari activities – we love the vibe of this Nomad camp! The camp has tented suites, all with heating for those chilly highland temperatures and crater views. Over the two nights here, you can head down into the Crater for some seriously good game drives featuring the Big Five and many other mammals! You can also enjoy guided walks up on the highlands around the Crater rim. Interactions with the local Maasai are available too, for those who like to add a little culture to the mix.

Serengeti National Park

Following your stay at the Ngorongoro Crater, you’ll fly to the Serengeti for four nights at Serengeti Safari Camp, another great Nomad Tanzania property. This is one of the oldest mobile camps in the park, and we reckon it’s one of the most adventurous too! It moves hundreds of miles every year to make sure that guests are treated to the most thrilling sights of the Great Migration. You are guaranteed a front-row seat for watching one of Mother Nature’s finest shows during the twice-daily game drives.
