After growing up in South Africa’s Greater Kruger, Edward spent 15 years managing beach lodges and safari camps in Southern and Eastern Africa. His life has been all about safari, and he weaves his wide-ranging knowledge into each bespoke trip he designs.

Edward’s Recent Travel Experience

Edward’s most recent safari was an incredible trip exploring some of the more high-end lodges and camps in Botswana’s Chobe National Park and Okavango Delta – a warm (in October) but rewarding experience.

Edward’s Most Memorable Experience

“Other than meeting my wife while working in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, it’s hard to choose just one experience…. Every little experience on safari, from something as small and beautiful as watching fledging Narina trogons flying from the nest for the first time, sticks with you. But so too does having the opportunity to watch conservation in action in Kenya’s Chyulu Hills with Big Life, darting and treating one of Africa’s last remaining super tusker elephants from a spear wound, and basking in the magnificence of these gentle giants. Choosing one singular most memorable experience is a daunting task – and one that I will leave open as I am not finished making safari memories yet!”

Edward’s bio

Edward was born in the UK and raised across South Africa throughout his adolescence. As he spent a large portion of his youth growing up in the Greater Kruger National Park at a safari lodge, a life in adventure with a focus on wildlife was always the clear path. From the age he was able to reach the pedals of the family’s Land Rover game viewer, he was hooked, and he has been a die-hard Land Rover fanatic ever since then.

In later life, Edward and his wife spent over 10 years travelling through Southern and East Africa. They managed a variety of safari and beach lodges, initially in South Africa’s Greater Kruger. Subsequently, they enjoyed a back-to-basics lodge in Eswatini, the home of rhino conservation in the Kingdom, before falling in love with Malawi and spending 4+ years managing camps on the ground and as operations managers for the largest safari company in the country. The next stop was managing the ultra-luxurious Ol Donyo in Kenya’s glorious Chyulu Hills, before a final hop back to Malawi, managing Kaya Mawa. Eventually, they settled down back in the scenic Cotswolds of the UK, where Edward still enjoys being out in nature and can often be found out rambling with his wife and Swiss Shepherd puppy.
