OVERVIEW:
Impala is an eight-roomed tented camp on the banks of Rufiji River. Situated in a very good area for game viewing throughout the year, this camp offers one of the best wildlife experiences in this reserve at a significantly lower cost.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Impala Camp is located in the game-rich areas of Tanzania’s Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous). It is the more upmarket elder brother of the superb Lake Manze Tented Camp.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT SELOUS IMPALA CAMP:
The rooms are classic safari tents raised up onto wooden platforms. They are relatively high specification with good-sized ensuites, as well as private decking areas where guests can relax and enjoy the river views.
Although not overly luxurious, Impala Camp is certainly more than comfortable. The main areas are very attractive and elevated onto wooden platforms. There is a small camp-fire section on the riverfront itself.
ACTIVITIES AT SELOUS IMPALA CAMP:
- Not only is the game-viewing area one of the best in the reserve, but boating safaris here are especially good.
*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
