OVERVIEW:
With stunning views of a sweeping bend in Luangwa River, Tafika is the home of the owners of Remote Africa, John and Carol Coppinger. Remote Africa is a safari enthusiast’s dream – a very serious, adventurous company where the basics of safari are finely tuned. Guiding is phenomenal, with many of the guides having worked in the valley for well over a decade.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Tafika is one of the most northern camps in South Luangwa National Park. As you can probably tell, we think Tafika and Remote Africa are as good as it gets!
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT TAFIKA CAMP:
Like the other Remote Africa camps, Tafika is simple, yet very high quality. It is the most ‘luxurious’ of the company’s four camps and is the one camp that we would recommend to the majority of travellers. The satellite ‘bush camps’ are for the adventurous walking enthusiast only.
ACTIVITIES AT TAFIKA CAMP:
- Tafika offers game drives by day and by night, as well as walking safari and a number of special-interest safaris such as cycling and John’s famous microlighting. Nowhere else in Africa offers this.
*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
