OVERVIEW:
Sister lodge to nearby Tongabezi, Sindabezi offers adventurous, funky-styled accommodation at a good price. It is more like a bushcamp than a hotel.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Sindabezi Island Lodge sits on its own private island in the middle of the Zambezi, about 17 kilometres upstream from Victoria Falls. It takes approximately one hour to reach the Falls, as it is accessed from Livingstone on the Zambian side. Guests reach the lodge by a short boat ride down the Zambezi.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT SINDABEZI ISLAND:
Its five cottages are beautifully designed and all have open fronts looking on to the river. Although each room is slightly different, all have large four-poster beds, outside showers and no electricity. However, each of the two honeymoon chalets also has a bath.
ACTIVITIES AT SINDABEZI ISLAND:
- River cruises, guided walks and fishing trips are to be had nearby, while the lodge is the perfect place to just relax. This is a real favourite of ours in the area and we recommend a minimum of two nights stay here due to its fabulous but remote location.
*This property is unfenced and although animal densities are not that high along this stretch of the Zambezi River, there is always the potential for dangerous game. So if you opt to stay here please always be cautious and look out for wildlife when walking around, especially at night.
