OVERVIEW:
This lodge is larger than most of the camps in this region, but it does offer more facilities – such as the bush spa and Jacuzzi. This will suit guests that are looking for a safe and luxurious lodge.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
The lodge is approximately a 10-minute drive from Lower Zambezi National Park. On the opposite side of the Zambezi is the famous Mana Pools, which is a World Heritage site.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT ROYAL ZAMBEZI LODGE:
The lodge has 15 rooms, consisting of classic, deluxe and presidential suites. The classic rooms are spacious and simple, each with a private balcony. The presidential and deluxe suites offer guests their own piece of paradise with a private sala, freestanding outdoor copper bath and plunge pool. On top of this, the presidential suites have a lounge area too.
The main area has a lounge and dining room, where meals can be taken if the weather does not allow for outdoor dining. Breakfast is usually served in the dining room. The communal part of the lodge leads out onto an extensive wooden deck with incredible views of the Zambezi River.
ACTIVITIES AT ROYAL ZAMBEZI LODGE:
- As Royal Zambezi Lodge is set outside the National Park, you can choose to do your game drives inside the park or in the game-management area.
- From the lodge you can do morning, afternoon and night drives, walking safaris, river cruises, fishing and canoeing.
- The spa comes highly recommended – it won the World Luxury Spa Awards 2013, and its views are breathtaking!
*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
