"This camp is one of the few properties in this area with a lodge-style feel to it, with stone-built structures and all the modern conveniences that you don't tend to get in a bushcamp."

OVERVIEW:

Luangwa River Camp is run by Robin Pope Safaris and is nestled under an ebony grove and overlooks Wafwa Oxbow Lagoon.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

It sits on the banks of the Luangwa River on the border of South Luangwa National Park at the end of the Great Rift Valley.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT LUANGWA RIVER CAMP:

It accommodates a maximum of 10 people in five bush suites. Each suite is decorated differently, has a private deck, and a bathroom with sunken bath tub and shower. They are all spacious and tastefully furnished in safari style. Outside there are two infinity pools, one for swimming and another for sitting by the waterfall that adjoins them.

ACTIVITIES AT LUANGWA RIVER CAMP:

  • Activities include day and night game drives, walking safaris and village visits. This is an area of unspoiled wilderness with large concentrations of game, including buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, giraffe, hippo and wild dog, as well as over 400 species of bird.

*This property is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through. If you opt to stay here, always be alert when walking around the camp and request for a member of staff to escort you if you have any concerns. Any guest is escorted after dark as a matter of course.
