Value

Our Value 'Adventure' price category (1st to the 15th December)

Low rates, excellent value! The first property I’ll pick out is Kiota Camp. This adventurous little camp offers great value for money and bags of character. It’s simple approach to safari still sees spacious rooms and en-suites; a level of comfort that surprises most travelers.

However, there is a very good argument to say that the slightly more expensive properties are the places to stay due to the fact they are officially in their lowest season for rates.

So, a slight step up in price and you have a couple of camps offering excellent value. Asanja’s Moru Serengeti is a slightly more polished property than Kiota - well worth a look - whereas Nasikia’s Naona Moru is one of our favourite properties at this price bracket.

Naona competes hard with Lemala’s Ewanjan, another excellent location for this time of year. However, if I was cherry-picking the very best location for early December then I'd head for the area to the east around Lemala Nanyukie. Located in the eastern side of the central plains this is the perfect location to catch the herds on their way south. Lemala Nanyukie's rates at this time of year.

Stepping up slightly in budget is the adventure styled Serengeti Safari Camp which becomes especially very good value when clients are staying for four nights due to a four for three deal. Run by one of the best operators in the business this little camp is a classic Serengeti mobile...a truly great camp.

Our Value 'Adventure' price category (15th December to 1st January)

From around the 15th December, the rates increase significantly as camps make the most of peak season. At this time of year, the key at this price bracket is to stay in the mobile camps to maximise game viewing. The camps are much more comfortable than you might expect – some have four-poster beds etc ! Here is my pick of the best mobiles:

One of our favourite tented camps is Nasikia Migration Mobile Camp. This adventurous little camp offers great value for money and bags of character. Its simple approach to safari still sees spacious rooms and en-suites; a level of comfort that surprises most travellers. Don’t underestimate this place, it’s a cracking camp that gets seriously good customer feedback.

A slight step up however and you have Lemala Ndutu which is more luxurious but ultimately more expensive; it’s the camp to splash out on in my opinion. Lemala are a company whose reputation seems to be growing year on year; it’s a great option for clients looking for a luxury mobile camp at an affordable price.

Nasikia or Lemala are our stand out options at this price bracket but we also often use Chaka Camp as an alternative to either camp if space becomes an issue.

Stepping up in budget is the adventure styled Serengeti Safari Camp which becomes very good value when clients are staying for four nights due to a four for three deal. Run by one of the best operators in the business this little camp is a classic Serengeti mobile...a truly great camp.
