OVERVIEW:

Ursula’s Homestead is owned and run by MORE. This is a family company, specializing in unique and life-enriching experiences across Southern Africa. Other offerings in MORE’s impressive portfolio are Lion Sands River Lodge, Madikwe’s Lelapa Lodge, and sister property Stanley & Livingstone Boutique Hotel. The accommodation is booked on a B&B or half-board basis, including up to three scheduled shared transfers daily between the homestead and both Victoria Falls’ international airport and town. The homestead is open all year round.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

The homestead can be accessed via 20 kilometers’ road transfer from Victoria Falls International Airport. It’s situated on the Stanley & Livingstone Private Game Reserve, close to the Zambezi National Park.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT URSULA’S HOMESTEAD:

There are just four guest rooms. Each occupies an A-frame chalet and is furnished in a pleasant homely style. All contain a double bed or twin beds, bedside stands and lighting, a writing desk and chair, and a wardrobe. One bed for a child aged under 13 years can be added on request. Artwork featuring natural subjects adorns the walls, while various artifacts are positioned on one or two surfaces. Amenities include air conditioning, ceiling fan, telephone, tea-and-coffee station, mini-bar, safe, Wi-Fi, and hairdryer. The en-suite facilities comprise flush toilet, twin washbasins, and shower. One room has a bathtub too. And every room has a private terrace, where you can relax and enjoy beautiful views!

The communal spaces at Ursula’s Homestead are also very well appointed. The lounge area has comfy seating, a cozy fireplace, and a satellite television, while the dining room offers a convivial venue for tucking in to delicious meals. Guests can also choose to dine privately, within the homestead’s gorgeous grounds. The menu changes daily, and among the drinks available is an excellent assortment of South African wines. You can enjoy lunch and dinner at Stanley & Livingstone Boutique Hotel too! Other dining venues include Ursula’s outdoor relaxation area, where you’ll find a classic fire-pit. Finally, the homestead has a swimming pool, surrounded by inviting sunloungers. All main areas are serviced by friendly staff – you’ll feel very much at home here.

ACTIVITIES AT URSULA’S HOMESTEAD:

Please note, all activities incur an extra cost. Here are a few experiences you can enjoy here:

  • Expertly guided game drives

    - These are offered during mornings and evenings. The morning drive includes breakfast, while the evening adventure includes a boma dinner. Both include the option of water safari, on the reserve’s scenic lake. The usual minimum age requirement is 3 years, but a private vehicle can be booked for families with younger children. You can look out for all Big Five – lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, and buffalo – and numerous smaller predators and herbivores! Trips across the lake yield sightings of a wealth of waterbirds.
  • Walking safaris

    - This activity is also accompanied by a knowledgeable and experienced guide. Walks offer opportunities for close scrutiny of the reserve’s plants, insects, and birdlife.
  • Birding

    - Special excursions can be arranged for keen birders. Guests can decide whether to head out in the safari vehicle, on foot, aboard a boat, or all three, in their search for a wonderful range of feathery friends!
  • Fishing

    - The mighty Zambezi river is famous for its fishing, for tiger fish in particular. Any enthusiastic angler could easily while away an entire afternoon waiting for a bite!
  • Victoria Falls tours

    - Staff at the homestead can set you up with a fascinating introduction to the world’s largest waterfall. This involves finding out about the rich history of the area, as well as the amazing environment.
  • Watersports

    - From white water rafting to gorge swinging high over the rapids, the Falls offers all sorts of wet-and-wild pursuits! For more information, click here.
  • Helicopter flights

    - Fantastic for breathtaking vistas from the air, flights typically loop the Falls several times, with the option of moving farther upstream to see more of the River Zambezi. There are further details here.
  • Sunset cruises

    - If you’re looking for something more serene, or you simply wish to wind down after an action-packed day, a river cruise at sunset is ideal. You can sink a sundowner while watching the sun descend – bliss!
  • Cultural experiences

    - Three tours with a cultural emphasis are offered – Chinotimba Township, Meet the People, and Art Village. All provide fascinating insights into the lives of the local peoples.
  • Children’s activities

    - Lots of things to do for youngsters are possible through Ursula’s Mack & Madi Kids Programme! For more information about this, please contact a member of our team.

*This property is partially unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large and potentially dangerous animals do pass through.
