OVERVIEW:
This lodge is probably our favorite camp in the area. It is hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Victoria Falls, and offers a much quieter and more peaceful alternative to the larger hotels that are closer to the Falls. The hotel is high quality and the service excellent, but we believe that it is the setting that really makes this lodge so special.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
The lodge stands on the top of the riverbank, overlooking a sweeping bend in the Zambezi.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT THE RIVER CLUB:
The ten thatched suites are very comfortable and have stunning views across the river. The main communal area is in a colonial, Edwardian-style house, complete with a lounge, library and large dining room. There is also a swimming pool, croquet lawn and tennis court.
**Please be aware that we are unable to book this property for families with young children under the age of 6 years, for safety reasons relating to the balcony and verandah railings.**
ACTIVITIES AT THE RIVER CLUB:
- Activities at The River Club are largely based on the river and on Victoria Falls.
- Boat trips are especially good on this quieter section of the river.
- The River Club also offers visits to the Falls, to Livingstone, and to villages where the staff work.
- Bungee jumping, white water rafting, abseiling and helicopter flights over the Falls are all available in the area.
*This property is unfenced and although animal densities are not that high along this stretch of the Zambezi River, there is always the potential for dangerous game. So if you opt to stay here please always be cautious and look out for wildlife when walking around, especially at night.
