The famous ‘northern circuit’ is home to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, and Tarangire. This area is the stomping ground of the Wildebeest Great Migration and attracts the highest concentration of predators in Africa. It is an absolutely phenomenal big game viewing destination.
The quieter ‘southern circuit’ is home to Ruaha National Park and Nyerere National Park. Game densities are not as high here, but there is an undeniable charm to being ‘off the beaten track’ in pristine wildlife reserves.
Safari aficionados head off to western Tanzania for the chimps of Mahale and the wild appeal of Katavi – parks that receive very few visitors indeed.
