Mivumo River Lodge has all the creature comforts of a hotel so is not suitable for anyone wanting an authentic wilderness experience.

OVERVIEW:
Mivumo River Lodge is owned and run by the Serena hotel group and is sister camp to Selous Serena CampThe lodge is sophisticated and elegant, decorated in natural creams, beiges and browns to tone in with the surrounding bush.

ACCESS & LOCATION:
It sits on the banks of the Rufji River in the remote west of the Selous Game Reserve.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES:
The main lodge area is a large thatched and open structure with a spacious lounge/ dining area and a small bar. An impressive swimming pool is below, surrounded with wooden decking, parasols and loungers

The 12 guestrooms are built on stilts and spaced well apart along the riverbank. They are extremely spacious, beautifully furnished and have fabulous views. Each has its own private plunge pool and viewing deck.

ACTIVITIES:
The lodge is an hour's drive away from the best game-viewing areas, so full-day game drives are recommended with a picnic lunch. Walking and motorboat safaris are available directly from the lodge.

"Also run by the Serena hotel chain, why would choose a commercial hotel chain in a wonderfully quiet, wild park? The style goes against what I believe the Selous is all about. Sorry Mivumo!"
