When To Visit The Serengeti:

Open from December through to March, Masek Under Canvas Tented Camp has superb game viewing as the Great Migration moves into the area for the zebra and wildebeest calving season.

Masek Under Canvas is a good-value tented camp that offers an authentic safari experience. However, many of our clients opt to spend a little bit more to stay at Nomad’s Serengeti Safari Camp or Alex Walker’s Serian.

Located in Ndutu, Masek Under Canvas is situated between the vast open plains of the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

This seasonal camp consists of ten spacious safari tents, each with double bed and en-suite facilities including a flush toilet and bucket shower. The communal ‘mess’ comprises a dining/lounge area where guests can relax between game drives or before their alfresco meal.

  • Masek Under Canvas offers guests the opportunity to see the Great Migration in an area that is known for having the highest concentration of cats in Africa.
"Lake Masek tented Camp is another of the classic Serengeti mobiles. A good property and one that has a great location from December through to March...but competition in this market is fierce."
