Chada Camp is located in Katavi National Park in the far west of Tanzania. This park and this specific camp are truly a safari enthusiast’s dream.

Katavi is miles away from anywhere, one of Africa’s most remote safari parks. It is expensive to get here, very few people visit, yet Katavi is packed with game. Chada epitomises the very spirit of this park.

Chada is well respected as the best camp in Katavi. Nestled into the trees on the edge of the huge Chada plain, the location is superb.

With only six rooms, Chada is a simple classic bush camp. However, do not let the simplicity put you off – this camp is very high end with extremely high standards of accommodation masked by the seemingly simple set-up. This approach suits such a wild destination.

Guiding standards here are as expected from any Nomad Tanzania camp – they are set very high. You can also be guaranteed of a laidback but very high quality hospitality experience. Activities are based around standard game drives as well as some seriously good walking. The camp also offers fly camping – something we highly recommend.

Chada is sister camp to nearby Greystoke, the famous chimpanzee camp in the Mahale Mountains. We would always advise combining the two camps when pushing out to travel this far.

"When travellers talk about Katavi they usually only ever talk about Chada. It's a classic camp, similar in many ways to the Serengeti's mobile camps...perfect for such a wild and remote National Park."
