OVERVIEW:

We believe that Bougainvillea is perfect for travelers on a slightly tighter budget. Although it is not as luxurious as some of the other properties in the area, it provides outstanding value.

ACCESS & LOCATION: 

Midway between Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater, Bougainvillea Safari Lodge is located on the outskirts of Karatu town and is a three-hour drive from Arusha. 

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT BOUGAINVILLEA SAFARI LODGE: 

The lodge consists of 32 spacious cottages set in and around lush gardens. Bougainvillea is a fairly simple property yet caters perfectly for its guests’ needs. There is a fireplace in every room and a refreshing swimming pool for cooling down after a long day on safari. The food here is excellent – and the bar, unlike a lot of other lodges in the area, is very affordable.

ACTIVITIES AT BOUGAINVILLEA SAFARI LODGE: 

  • The guesthouse can arrange guided walks around the area's beautiful coffee farms, as well as cultural visits to the Iraqw, Hadzabe, or Datogo communities.
