"Thonga offers by far the most exclusive beach experience along KwaZulu-Natal’s rugged coastline, A host of activities is available, from scuba diving to turtle tracking in certain seasons."

OVERVIEW:

A luxurious yet subtle lodge set along the wild northern coast, Thonga Beach Lodge is the ideal end to a South Africa safari thanks to its endless white sand beaches, turtle hatching activities, almost constant whale watching opportunities and divine spa.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

The lodge is just a 25-minute drive from Lake Sibaya, which is the largest freshwater lake in Southern Africa.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT THONGA BEACH LODGE:

The lodge has 12 suites, which are all raised on wooden stilts. Seven of them have forest views and five of them have sea views. Over the years, as the foliage has grown, some of the sea views have become slightly obstructed. All of the rooms have overhead fans and air conditioning, which is a must in the summer months.

ACTIVITIES AT THONGA BEACH LODGE:

Activities at Thonga Beach Lodge include snorkelling, guided walks, kayaking and a cultural visit. There is also scuba diving, as the lodge has a fully equipped PADI dive centre, and turtle tracking from November to February.
