OVERVIEW:
This property takes its name from Château de Marly, built in the 17th century for the leisure activities of Louis XIV and his family. Sidewalk cafés, bars and a casual, relaxed atmosphere make this spot a beachcomber’s paradise.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Its location right on the beachfront of Camps Bay is literally a stone’s throw from one of Cape Town’s finest beaches.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT THE MARLY HOTEL:
All 11 suites are contemporary in style, and their clean and crisp design provides the perfect frame for the incredible sea and mountain views. Each has its own balcony, which ensures full appreciation of the vistas. NB: **Please be aware that we are unable to book this property for families with young children under the age of 6 years, for safety reasons relating to the ladder-style balconies.
Guests enjoy private access to the pool terrace bar and partially covered courtyard. A 24-hour butler service is offered as standard and there are two day spas within the complex. Breakfast is served at Zenzero (an independent restaurant), and for other meals you may choose between the multitude of fantastic eateries and cafés on the Camps Bay strip. Try UMI at least once (directly below The Marly), as here they serve fabulous Asian dishes accompanied by a glamorous atmosphere and a great vibe.
*Please be aware that the swimming pool here has no depth markings, so take care before you jump in!*
*Please be aware that we are unable to book this property for families with young children under the age of 6 years, for safety reasons relating to the balconies.*
ACTIVITIES AT THE MARLY HOTEL:
Days here are filled with sun, sand and sea, whilst evenings are all about cocktails and cafés.
The main downside to The Marly is the noise levels outside the suites, as the property is situated on the main Camps Bay strip, above some lively nightlife hotspots. The windows are heavily glazed, which does cut out the noise when they are closed, but nevertheless, this may be a consideration if you enjoy your peace and quiet.
