Dating back to the 1850s, the carefully restored cottages offer the ultimate city centre escape, complete with open-plan living spaces, light-flooded windows, kitchenettes, and delightful patios ideal for sitting in the sunshine with an early morning coffee. Each unit is styled slightly differently, featuring bold colours, sink-in velvet sofas, wooden floors with contemporary rugs, and plenty of potted plants that bring the Cape Town greenery inside! The African Honeymoon Cottage is particularly romantic with its old-world colonial style and luxury bathroom with checkerboard tiles and a deep-soaking bathtub. Each accommodation is air-conditioned and includes a Smart TV with Netflix and other streaming apps, complimentary Wi-Fi access, and modern kitchen appliances, including a toaster, a microwave, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Open-plan living areas feature writing desks and dining spaces, while outside you’ll find prettily planted furnished patios with trellises. On-street parking is available.
As an apartment-style property, Nicol Street doesn’t have communal areas. However, guests are given vouchers to enjoy breakfast at an atmospheric local breakfast spot, aptly called ‘Our Local’.
