Madison Manor Boutique Hotel is situated in Knysna’s Upper Central area, above the town centre. This lofty position results in amazing views across the town and over the lagoon to the ocean!

OVERVIEW:
The property has a sophisticated vibe. The Manor is suitable for solos, couples, honeymooners, and adult groups - pretty much excellent for any travellers aged 16 or over who are looking for sophisticated accommodation just outside Knysna town centre!

ACCESS & LOCATION:
Knysna is easily accessed by road transfer from Cape Town (500 km) and Port Elizabeth (260 km). Many travellers self-drive from George Airport, a distance of 60 kilometres. The N2 highway runs right through the town, so it is merely a matter of finding the turn into the steep Thesen Hill Street and continuing into Bosbou Street – the Manor stands at number 4. The property has gabled gates and its main building has a traditional Cape Dutch frontage – behind this, the style is fairly contemporary.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES:
Communal areas include a formal lounge, decorated with plush armchairs and a Persian rug. This room leads out onto a deck, with superb views over Knysna town and beyond. The restaurant is very pleasant and combines with a licensed pub to provide a homely space for drinks and meals. Madison Manor also has a swimming pool! Finally, there is a very well equipped conference centre, boasting 46 square metres of floor space and all the amenities you could desire for a successful business event. Please contact us for further information.

The guest accommodation at Madison Manor consists of 17 rooms across three categories. Each room is individually decorated with antique furniture and Persian rugs, and offers air conditioning, satellite television, Wi-Fi, a safe, a tea-and-coffee tray, a mini-bar fridge, a hairdryer, and en-suite facilities comprising flush toilet, washbasin, bathtub, and separate shower.

The first room category is Lagoon View Elite – there are three rooms on the ground floor and one on the first floor. This option includes a double bed, remote-controlled curtains, and lovely views out to the lagoon – from the first floor, you can see the famous Knysna Heads from a private deck! The second category is Manor Luxury, with subcategories of Double and Twin. Manor Luxury rooms are all positioned on the first floor and have lagoon, courtyard, or forest views. Finally, there are eight Manor Classic rooms, again with the subclass Double or Twin – and two of these rooms are Manor Deluxe! All are on the ground floor, with views of either courtyard or forest. Please note, none of the room categories includes interleading options and the maximum number of guests per room is two.

ACTIVITIES:
Whichever room option you select, you are guaranteed a very comfortable base from which to explore Knysna and surrounds. Madison Manor is just 5 minutes’ walk from the town centre and its many attractions – shops, cafés, restaurants, Mitchell’s Brewery, and the spectacular waterfront! From the waterfront, you can take a boat trip across the lagoon and enjoy activities such as kayaking, waterskiing, and surfing. The area has some beautiful beaches, for swimming, snorkelling, fishing, or simply soaking up some sun.

If you like to hike, you will love the nature trails around Knysna Forest, especially where they adjoin the mountains – here, you can look out for leopard, grey rhebuck, klipspringer, an assortment of rodents, and loads of birds! Nature fans will relish trips to Featherbed Nature Reserve, Knysna Elephant Park, Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, Eagle Encounters, and Butterfly World. Golfers are well served by ten courses in this scenic region, while visitors who prefer their sports a little extreme can have a go at shark cage diving, bungee jumping, and thrilling treetop canopy tours!
