"One of my favorite boutique hotels in the entire city and a property that gets very good feedback from our clients. Small, personal, and very well run, this is one of the best small properties in Cape Town."

OVERVIEW:

Four Rosmead is privately owned and run. Originally constructed as a private house in 1903, its conversion into a guesthouse was very successful – and it’s certainly a favorite at YZ! Today it offers deluxe rooms and superb service. Accommodation is booked on a B&B basis, including parking and Wi-Fi. Four Rosmead can be booked on an exclusive basis, and it’s open all year round.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

The guesthouse is accessed via 25 minutes’ road transfer from Cape Town’s international airport. It’s situated in Oranjezicht, a peaceful suburb of the Mother City. Occupying the lower slopes of Table Mountain, it’s also not far from Kloof Street’s great range of restaurants and cafés within Cape Town.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT FOUR ROSMEAD GUEST HOUSE:

There are ten guest rooms, in two categories – Luxury and Deluxe. The former are found on the ground floor, and three of four offer an outside area that’s accessed directly from the guesthouse’s secure parking spaces. Cape contemporary classic in style, all Luxury Rooms feature an extra-length double bed or twin beds, bedside tables and lighting, a writing desk cum vanity table and chair, an easy chair, and storage furniture. The en-suite facilities comprise flush toilet, washbasin, and step-up shower. Additional amenities include air conditioning, television and DVD player, Bluetooth Soundbar, telephone, Wi-Fi, tea-and-coffee station, bar-fridge, snack selection, electronic safe, heated towel rail, hairdryer, and bathrobes. There’s easy access into the communal gardens too! Four of the six Deluxe Rooms are positioned on the upper floor of the guesthouse, benefiting from all the features of the Luxury option in addition to a little extra space – and, in two of these rooms, an en-suite washroom with bathtub as well as shower. The final two Deluxe Rooms are situated within the garden. These have amazing views of Lion’s Head mountain from a private patio!

Four Rosmead’s communal areas include the guesthouse’s pleasant lounge, featuring comfortable seating, coffee and occasional tables, ottomans, and an interesting array of African artwork. It’s large enough to be divided into two spaces, one with a cozy fireplace. In the breakfast room, there are immaculate wooden tables-and-chairs and further artwork. Continental or full English options are served here every morning, to set you up for the day! Beaded and wire sculptures are also on display, and available for purchase along with the paintings. Guests can also eat, drink, and relax on the guesthouse’s veranda, all the while enjoying lovely garden views. The garden contains an inviting heated swimming pool, in addition to a few sunloungers under parasols. Throughout the guesthouse the atmosphere is really laidback, and nothing is too much trouble for Four Rosmead’s friendly team.

Among the services offered by Four Rosmead’s staff members are airport transfers, car hire, reservations, and arranging a variety of tours.
