OVERVIEW:

Cape Grace is privately owned and run. The owners’ aim has always been to provide a hotel like no other, offering handcrafted experiences while showcasing the spirit of the community. This manifests itself in first-class service standards – the property gained a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice award in 2018! The accommodation is booked on a B&B basis, including tea and coffee with wake-up calls, port and sherry 18:00–22:00, chauffeur transfers within a 10 kilometer radius, shower rooms for early arrivals and late departures, use of hot spa area 08:00–20:00, undercover and surface parking, Wi-Fi, Cape Wine Experience, children’s activities, and overnight shoeshine.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

The hotel has a fabulous location on a private quay, between Cape Town’s famous V&A Waterfront and the city’s yacht marina. It can be accessed via road transfer from the international airport, a drive of just over 20 minutes along the N2.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT CAPE GRACE HOTEL:

There are ten categories of guest accommodation. All options are spacious and luxuriously appointed, with a satellite television, a radio, an alarm clock, international plug points, an iPod docking station, a tea and espresso machine, a mini-bar, a safe, fresh flowers, a selection of books, a hairdryer, and an iron and board. Every room boasts spectacular views over the yacht marina or the working harbor! En-suite facilities comprise a marble bathroom with complimentary toweling robes and slippers. The entry-level categories – Luxury Room and Table Mountain Luxury Room – accommodate two adults and one child aged 4 years or younger, while the next options up – Superior Room and Table Mountain Superior Room – sleep a maximum of two adults and two children. The Rooftop Terrace and Rooftop Luxury rooms are perfect for travelers seeking breathtaking vistas over the city! Family-friend suites are available, with one, two, or three bedrooms, living and dining areas, and a kitchen. This is an excellent option for groups too. Finally, there’s the Penthouse Suite, boasting a private rooftop room, an outdoor terrace with Jacuzzi, express laundry and unpacking services, and a mini-bar filled with high-strength spirits!

The communal spaces at Cape Grace are every inch as sumptuous as the guest accommodation. Hosted by helpful members of staff, the exquisite Reception Lounge contains plush seating around coffee tables, a grand fireplace, all sorts of artworks, intriguing artifacts, and chandeliers. There’s also a comfortable library, where guests can relax and perhaps read a paper or two, as both local and international newspapers are provided here. Delicious food and drink is served in the property’s Signal Restaurant, inspired by cultures involved in Cape Town’s history and fused with ingredients from local farms. The city’s latest taste sensations are also included in the à la carte menu! The Bascule Bar is stocked with South Africa’s finest wines, a range of spirits, and tempting cocktails. A communications center supplies free internet access, and the boardroom is highly recommended for not only business events but also private dinners and whisky-tasting sessions. The boutique sells leather goods, ceramic pieces, and local paintings, as well as some essential items including toiletries and stationery. The spa is ideal for anyone in need of a little pampering, while the fitness center is always popular with exercise enthusiasts! And there’s a lovely swimming pool too – set within a deck and surrounded by sunloungers, it’s perfect for freshening up in between trips into Cape Town and surrounds.

ACTIVITIES AT CAPE GRACE HOTEL:

Cape Grace is very well placed for guests to explore all the attractions of the Mother City.

• You could start by taking a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain, to enjoy sensational views of the city below! If you’re feeling energetic, you could climb up instead.
• A visit to the V&A Waterfront is also a fun thing to do – you can check out the area’s craft market, street entertainers, and shopping mall, and take time to relax in one of the numerous cafés, restaurants, and bars.
• The gorgeous gardens of Kirstenbosch make for a pleasant outing too, especially for a picnic.
• Heading out a little, you can drive around Cape Point and park up at some of the region’s best beaches – Boulders Beach is one of our favorite spots for its resident penguins!
• History buffs will love excursions to Robben Island, as well as township tours and a look around the District Six Museum.
• Depending on how long you stay here, you could even head out to the Winelands! The hotel offers private yacht cruises to Robben Island, Cape Point, Hout Bay, among other locations.
• Children receive an activity pack on arrival at Cape Grace, and they can take part in Africa-themed storytelling and gingerbread decorating. Books, games, and consoles are also available – and there’s a reliable childminding service!
