Praslin is the second largest island of the Seychelles and is located 44km north-east of largest island Mahé. With its beautiful beaches, vast tracts of tropical forest and gorgeous gardens, it is a perfect place for an island holiday.

Hotel L’Archipel is situated in the south of Praslin, within a private estate resplendent with tropical trees and flowers – majestic palms and vibrant hibiscus, frangipani, bougainvillea. The hotel has its own wonderful white-sand beach plus beach bar and restaurant. Other communal facilities are housed in a grand building overlooking the bay and comprise a second restaurant, bar and cocktail lounge, billiards room, souvenir shop and spacious swimming pool.

There are four accommodation options at L’Archipel, ranging from deluxe room and superior room to senior suite and executive suite. All rooms and suites are situated among the gardens and enjoy amazing views of trees, flowers, and the beach beyond. They include king-size bed, satellite TV, tea/coffee-making facilities and minibar, and are fully air conditioned. Some have a bathroom, some have a shower room – all have dual washbasin and separate toilet. Additionally, all have terraces, ideal for dining or simply relaxing throughout the day.

Activities at L’Archipel feature watersports from the hotel’s own centre adjacent to the beach – windsurfing, canoeing and boat trips for snorkelling come free of charge. Guests pay extra for scuba diving, deep-sea fishing and fly fishing with a professional guide. The hotel has its own boat – Lady Caroline – for fishing trips and excursions to neighbouring islands. Hotel reception offers car and bike hire for guests to tour Praslin – alternatively, buses are available or guests may prefer to walk. There is plenty to discover on the island, from the coco de mer (sea coconut) palms in La Vallée de Mai nature park, to Grand Anse and Anse Volbert beaches with their opportunities for further watersports, to the museum, galleries and gardens.

Back at L’Archipel, staff pride themselves on providing exceptional service and guests are sure to feel at home here. The hotel’s restaurants are among the best on Praslin, with La Gigolette providing international breakfasts, lunch and à la carte seafood dinner from its beach location, while La Feuille d’Or is the place to go for international dinner. Foremost is French fare, but authentic Creole cuisine is prepared once weekly. The bar and cocktail lounge is a great place to meet people – and guests are treated to live entertainment twice per week. There is no spa at L’Archipel, but in-room massage is supplied upon request.

We love the setting of Hotel L’Archipel! We recommend a stay here to travellers keen to base themselves at Praslin, with the option of enjoying trips out to other islands.
