OVERVIEW:

It is owned and operated by tourism company Songa Africa, who have ample experience in designing trips across Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. Now the company has designed its own lodge and Amakoro Songa is a fine addition to the properties situated in and around Volcanoes National Park.

The Lodge is accessible via road transfer from Kigali International Airport.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT AMAKORO SONGA LODGE:

The dining deck has lovely views over the Lodge’s gardens and the fire-pit comprises a large ring of seating around a central fireplace. Songa Africa reckons that this will be the most sustainable luxury nature resort in the East African region!

The guest accommodation comprises of double beds with logs of varying heights providing a headboard, a couple of wooden bedside tables with lighting, and cushions, neatly arranged. The palette itself is woody – a selection of browns on a neutral base. The rooms have en-suite facilities, and a gorgeous view from a private veranda!

ACTIVITIES AT AMAKORO SONGA LODGE:

Activities from Amakoro Songa will focus on gorilla trekking, mountain climbing, and birding, all taking place in Volcanoes National Park.

Gorilla treks will start out early in the morning. Accompanied by expert guides, guests will hike through the park on a mission to find one of the ten habituated family groups and to spend a full hour in their company! Mountain climbing will be a very exhilarating way to spend a morning or afternoon – or even a whole day.
And the birding in Volcanoes N.P. is sure to thrill wildlife lovers, as the park’s forests are home to some of the most beautiful species in the world.
