We have always been huge fans of the Wolwedans portfolio of camps. This award-winning collection is home to three camps at different levels of luxury, each with their own unique style. Boulders camp is its most recent addition and located in the quietest part of the reserve.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
This camp is located in the private Namibrand Nature Reserve in south-west Namibia.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES:
Wolwedans Boulders has only four rooms and is the most intimate of all the Wolwedans camps. The rooms are large tented structures raised up onto wooden decking. They are very high quality, with the emphasis on the natural environment and the huge granite boulders that lie behind camp.
Guests should not confuse this area with the huge dune fields at nearby Sossusvlei – it is far more sophisticated, subtle, and overall, it is a substantially quieter experience. Trips to Sossusvlei are not included in the rate and are not encouraged – it is over a two-hour bumpy ride each way! Activities at Wolwedans are based around exploring the private reserve by vehicle and also on foot. The area also offers the best game driving in the region, though even this area is not comparable to the likes of Etosha.
