"Coral Lodge's location is utterly unique – a remote beach lodge that's just a short boat ride from one of Mozambique's most fascinating historical sites, Ilha de Moçambique. If you like culture, history, and luxury on the beach then there is nowhere better. "

OVERVIEW:

Not only is the lodge one of the most beautiful beaches in Mozambique, but it is also filled with history and culture.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

Coral Lodge is situated on a peninsula, within an unspoiled nature reserve minutes away, by sailing dhow, from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ilha de Mozambique.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT CORAL LODGE:

There are ten villas, of which two are family villas with a second bedroom for two children. The views from the rooms are either of the mangroves in the lagoon or are sea facing – we do not recommend the sea-facing rooms if you are a light sleeper, as they are close to the ocean and you can hear the crashing waves at night!

All meals are inspired by the fresh, local ingredients that the chef obtains. New menus are created daily with local and Portuguese influences. Meals are served indoors or outdoors – some can be served on Islands as part of an excursion.

ACTIVITIES AT CORAL LODGE:

  • Coral Lodge offer a mixture of beach and cultural activities, including diving, snorkeling, canoeing, sailing, fishing, a visit to Ilha de Moçambique and learning about the Macua people.
  • You can even join the chef on his trip to the local market and watch as he teaches you how to make an amazing local dish.
  • On top of this, there are lots of special romantic things to do – or if you are traveling as a family, there are loads of activities for your children.
