OVERVIEW:

A redevelopment of Marlin Lodge, Azura Marlin Beach offers a very stylish lodge for guests seeking accommodation on the beautiful Benguerra Island! Marlin Beach is the latest property to join the portfolio of Azura Beach Retreats, which is made up of Azura Benguerra Island and Azura Quilalea Private Island. These are very high class options on, respectively, Mozambique’s Bazaruto and Quirimbas archipelagos. The accommodation is booked on a full-board basis and the hotel is open all year round.

ACCESS & LOCATION:

The hotel is accessed via 15 minutes’ helicopter hop from Vilankulo Airport to the airstrip on Benguerra Island, followed by a short road transfer. It’s situated on one of the island’s pristine beaches.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT AZURA MARLIN BEACH:

Guest accommodation consists of ten guest villas including a family villa, in addition to ten rooms. So far, we know that the villas will be refurbished versions of the former Marlin Lodge villas. All will be positioned along the seafront, benefiting from breathtaking sea views! The family villa has two bedrooms, as well as its own pool. The additional ten rooms are designed to create a light, bright and modern look with local community projects in mind.

The shared areas at Azura Marlin Beach have a contemporary feel, with deluxe lounge and dining areas, where guests are invited to relax and sample some delicious local cuisine. Marlin Beach also has a swimming pool, a spa and it's own watersports and activities including snorkeling and diving.

ACTIVITIES AT AZURA MARLIN BEACH:

• Beachtime

  - Having made the journey to Benguerra Island, most travelers will want to start their stay with some laidback beachtime! Marlin Beach is perfect for sunbathing, strolling, paddling, and swimming alike. It occupies a whole kilometer of pristine sands and clear waters within the Bazaruto Archipelago Marine National Park.

• Diving

  - This is one activity that is offered from the hotel’s watersports center. Also known as ocean safari, diving is an exciting opportunity to observe the archipelago’s marine life at a number of sites around Benguerra.

• Snorkeling

  - Also on offer from the watersports center, snorkeling is another wonderful way to take a look at the world beneath the waters, including colorful corals and all sorts of fish species.

• Fishing

  - As its name suggests, Marlin Beach is a dream destination for keen anglers, with both marlin and sailfish routinely caught here. Please note, fishing is offered on a catch-and-release basis only.

• Island drives

  - Travellers interested in exploring Benguerra can clamber aboard a 4 × 4 and enjoy spectacular views of the island’s savanna, woods, freshwater lakes, and wetlands. There are about 140 bird species!
