"Families or groups looking for a luxurious get-away in the Lewa area should look no further than this breathtaking private house."

OVERVIEW:

Lengishu is privately owned and run by the same family behind Borana Lodge. Constructed entirely from sustainable materials, the property blends beautifully with its surroundings! It’s made up of a main house where you will find all the shared facilities and four separate cottages that house the bedrooms. Lengishu accommodates a maximum of 12 adults and is booked on an exclusive basis. The price of your stay includes all meals, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, and a laundry service. Lengishu is open all year round

ACCESS & LOCATION:

The property is accessed via 1 hour 30 minutes’ game drive road transfer from Lewa Downs airstrip. It’s situated on a hill at the heart of the Borana Conservancy, with amazing views over this area, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, and the Northern Frontier!

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT LENGISHU:

There are six luxurious bedrooms, each sleeping up to two adults. Two are positioned a short distance apart from the main house, while two cottages set into the hill slopes below the house contain two bedrooms each. All rooms enjoy spectacular vistas over Borana and beyond! The Master Bedroom and Bedroom One offer a double bed apiece, as well as a cosy fireplace, and an en-suite washroom with flush toilet, washbasin/s, walk-in shower, and freestanding roll-top copper bath. The Master Bedroom also boasts its own lounge area and walk-in wardrobe. Both cottages contain two double or twin bedrooms, either side of a pleasant lounge and dining area with fireplace and adjoining veranda. Each cottage has a small kitchen too! And the cottages also have well-appointed en-suite bathrooms, featuring a loo with a view.

Lengishu’s communal spaces include a very comfortable lounge and dining area. The lounge features well-cushioned seating around a coffee table, while the dining room has one large table where everyone eats together. Guests can also dine on the covered veranda, where a pizza oven is set up, and on the lunch pavilion, all the while marveling at the views! If you’re feeling particularly inspired by the scenery, you can head to the art room, which has floor-to-ceiling windows. Keep-fit fans can pop to the property’s gym for a thorough work-out, and games enthusiasts will appreciate the designated games room, complete with sundowner bar. Central to the pavilion, gym, and games room is Lengishu’s U-shaped swimming pool, which also has an indoor dining room and kitchenette. There’s a pétanque pitch as well, with characterful candelabra trees all around!

*Please be aware that the swimming pool here has no depth markings, so take care before you jump in.*

A great range of activities is available from Lengishu, as follows:
