"This laidback but very good resort is a real establishment on Kenya’s coast – a favorite of regular vacation-goers and Kenyans."

Owned and operated by the highly acclaimed Hemingways Collection, Hemingways Watamu is an excellent option for travelers seeking luxury accommodation on the beautiful Kenya coast!

Access to the hotel is via road transfer from Mombasa’s Moi International Airport (2 hours 30 minutes) or from Malindi Airport (30 minutes).

Once you have arrived, you will be able to take time to relax in the new open-plan restaurant, bar, and reception area. There is also a deluxe spa and gym, in addition to a botanical swimming pool and, adjacent to the restaurant, a few water features!

Guest accommodation at the property consists of 39 rooms within the hotel and 21 seaside residences, all with spectacular views of the ocean.

Ernest Hemingway came to the coast with the intention of fitting in some serious game fishing, and the hotel is famous for the quality of its game-fishing center complete with four boats. Guests are also invited to enjoy diving and snorkeling from the nearest beach, watching dolphins, setting sail on a dhow cruise on the tidal inlet Mida Creek, and playing golf at Vipingo Ridge, a world-renowned course close to Watamu. Day trips to Tsavo National Park and the Maasai Mara can also be arranged.
