The first property you’ll visit is Sanctuary Swala Camp. Easily the most luxurious property in Tarangire, this camp has a peaceful setting in the park’s remote south-western region. Next up is Gibb’s Farm, a charming property situated among coffee plantations on the edge of the Ngorongoro hills and offering a superb base from which to explore the famous crater. The safari element of your trip concludes at Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp, a highly exclusive mobile camp moving between the north and south regions of the Serengeti. Visiting two Sanctuary camps really adds a little luxury to your trip! Finally, you’ll spend five nights at Zuri Zanzibar, a deluxe resort on the island’s scenic north-eastern shores.

While at Swala, you’ll enjoy classic vehicle and walking safaris, in the company of knowledgeable and experienced guides. Tarangire is home to four of the Big Five, in addition to numerous smaller mammals and ample birdlife! Days 1–2 Tarangire National Park

On Day 1 of your trip, you’ll touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), receiving a VIP Meet and Greet. From here, you’ll fly to Kuro Airstrip in Tarangire and you’ll have a shared road transfer to Sanctuary Swala Camp. This property has a lovely location, amidst immense acacia trees. Communal spaces feature plenty of comfy sofas, so you can sit back and enjoy views of wildlife at a nearby waterhole and on the plains beyond. Swala has an infinity pool too! You’ll stay in one of the camp’s 12 canvas pavilions. Shaded by trees, each pavilion overlooks the waterhole from a private veranda. Inside, the tents are beautifully furnished, and amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi! Swala offers great game drives, as well as walking safaris and night drives. There is loads to see in the park – lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, jackal, wild dog, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, lots of types of antelope, and hundreds of species of bird. And if you’re here between June and October, you might well witness Tarangire’s elephant migration, when about three thousand grey guys move across the park in search of water!

Days 3-4 NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

On the third day, you’ll return to Kuro Airstrip via shared road transfer and fly to Lake Manyara Airport. You’ll be met by a private guide, in a private vehicle, who’ll be with you throughout your time in the Ngorongoro region. The guide will drive you to Gibb’s Farm. One of our favourite properties in the region, Gibb’s features a decades-old farmhouse containing its lounge and dining areas, as well as a boutique, gardens, and extensive grounds. Guest accommodation takes the form of garden cottages, each with sumptuous bedroom, lounge with cosy fireplace, en-suite full bathroom, and private veranda. During your second day here, you’ll take a trip into the crater, for exceptionally good wildlife viewing! All Big Five are in residence, alongside plentiful smaller predators and herbivores. There are a lot of birding specials too. Gibb’s also offers farm tours, forest walks, and local community visits (at extra cost).

Days 5–8 Serengeti National Park

After your stay at Gibb’s, you’ll return to Lake Manyara Airport via private road transfer and fly to Lamai Airstrip, in the North Serengeti, before a shared transfer to Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp. This high-quality mobile property is based in the park’s northern region from the beginning of June until mid-November. Its lounge and dining areas are housed in a generously proportioned open-sided mess tent, and there’s a welcoming fire-pit too. You’ll spend four nights in one of the camp’s ten stylish safari tents, which comes with a comfortable bedroom, en-suite facilities including classic bucket shower, and your very own deck. Kichakani aims to follow the Great Migration on expertly guided game drives. During the months from June to November, the huge herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles push up into the North Serengeti in their search for good grazing. You can look out for all the Big Five as well!

Days 9–13 Zanzibar

Now it’s beach time! You’ll have a shared road transfer from Kichakani to Lamai Airstrip, from where you’ll fly out to Zanzibar. Once you’ve landed at the international airport, you’ll have a shared transfer to Zuri Zanzibar. Situated on the island’s finest non-tidal beach, this deluxe resort includes three restaurants and bars, as well as numerous areas where you can relax such as a library, spa, spice gardens, and infinity pool! You’ll spend your five nights here in a Garden Bungalow, enjoying cosy décor, a spacious private terrace, and well-appointed en-suite facilities. Activities available include plenty of wet-and-wild watersports, dhow boat cruises, spice tours, trips to Stone Town and Prison Island, and excursions into the beautiful Jozani Forest. And of course you can enjoy a little sunbathing, during these final few days of your highlights holiday.
