Tanzania Couple Safari Green Season (11n) – Classic

  • Days 1–2 : Ngorongoro Crater
  • Days 3–6 : Southern Serengeti
  • Days 7–11 : Zanzibar
  • Guide Price : $8,435 per person
  • Duration : 11 nights
  • Best Months : Mar
  • Countries : Tanzania

This safari starts with Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater, before moving to the Serengeti for viewing the Great Migration and high concentrations of predators on the park’s southern short-grass plains! After that, we whisk you off to Zanzibar.

We use three of our most popular properties on this safari – Gibb’s Farm, Serengeti Safari Camp, and Matlai Boutique Hotel. Pleasantly situated among coffee plantations on the edge of the Ngorongoro hills, Gibb’s is a superb base from which to explore both Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater. Nomad Tanzania’s Serengeti Safari Camp is one of our favourite mobiles – a unique little camp that shadows the herds. The last few days are spent on Zanzibar at Matlai Boutique Hotel. This is a wonderful small beach property, where personal service is excellent!

Your adventure will start with expertly guided game drives in both Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. Gibb’s offers plenty of on-site activities too! Serengeti Safari Camp is all about tracking the Great Migration as the herds mass in the park’s scenic south. And once at Matlai, you can enjoy watersports, land sports, island excursions… and relaxing on the beach.

*Please note, this is just one example of a trip we could design for you. We tailor-make safari vacations that take you to the real Africa – no readymade tours or set departures. Do get in touch with one of our experts today to start creating your bespoke itinerary!*

On Day 1 of your trip, you will fly out to the Ngorongoro Crater area and transfer by road to Plantation Lodge. This is a charming little property, situated in a coffee plantation within the foothills of the majestic Crater itself! A colonial-style building houses the lounge and dining areas, and is set within exceedingly well-kept gardens that are perfect for al-fresco meals and simply wandering around. All guest rooms have views of the gardens, and they also feature a fireplace or wood-burning stove and spacious en-suite shower- or bathroom. Activities include seriously good game drives in both the Crater and Lake Manyara National Park, as well as trips into Karatu. Plantation Lodge has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and, for fans of a fine vintage, its own wine cellar, where you can enjoy a few tasting sessions!

Board basis and activities:
Full-board accommodation including all meals, soft drinks, a collection of house alcoholic drinks, and a laundry service. Game driving in Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater is also included from your private vehicle accompanied by a private guide.

For the next part of your trip, you will fly to the Southern Serengeti, to stay at Serengeti Safari Camp. This property has the distinction of being the oldest mobile camp in the area – a classy little place where the sheer quality of guiding and authentic approach to safari guarantees an experience that takes you back to the very roots of safari. We absolutely love this camp! The location from December to March is the Ndutu plains of the Southern Serengeti, the location of the Great Migration. Travellers visiting the park around the first twenty days of February have a great chance of seeing the herds calving. Guest accommodation at Serengeti Safari Camp comprises six walk-in tents, all with eco-flush toilet and bucket shower. There’s an informal vibe here and the guiding is excellent. At the end of each day, there’s usually dinner around the camp fire, with everyone sharing safari stories!

Board basis and activities:
Fully inclusive of meals, selected house alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, a laundry service, and standard game drives from a shared open-sided 4×4 game drive vehicle.

For the final part of the itinerary, we fly you to Zanzibar for four nights at Matlai Boutique Hotel. With a gorgeous location within the Michamvi Peninsula area on the scenic south-east coast, this property has always been a favourite at YZ! We have supported Matlai since its opening and have not been let down – it is a reliably brilliant property providing a guest experience that’s very hard to find on the island. Small, personal, and with stunning views directly out to the reefs in front of the hotel, Matlai’s location is truly beautiful. Diving, fishing, and tours to the nearby Stone Town can easily be arranged.

Board basis and activities:
Full board with three meals, afternoon tea or coffee, water, and soft drinks. Butler service featuring personalised in-room check-in, luggage handling, in-room meals, beach service, and private open-air cinema!

On Day 12, you will be transferred through to Zanzibar’s airport for your international flight home.
