South Africa Honeymoon Safari (10n) – Classic

On Day 1 of your honeymoon, you’ll touch down at Cape Town International Airport, receiving a VIP Meet and Greet. From here, you’ll have a private road transfer to The Clarendon Bantry Bay. This is a small yet fabulously formed guesthouse in the quiet suburb of Bantry Bay, on the slopes of the majestic Lion’s Head. Situated on the road linking Sea Point and Clifton, The Clarendon is tucked well away from the touristy parts of Cape Town and feels like a private haven. The elegant lounge and dining areas boast beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean, while the property’s garden contains a lovely sundeck and swimming pool. You’ll stay in a spacious Superior Room, which benefits from superb sea views. It also comes with amenities such as air conditioning, direct dial telephone, satellite television, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and a well-stocked mini-bar! The Clarendon is a first-rate base for exploring Cape Town. It’s close to the V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain, the vibrant city centre, and the brilliant beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay!

On the fifth day of your honeymoon, you’ll return to Cape Town International Airport via private road transfer and fly to Hoedspruit Airport, before transferring privately to &Beyond’s Ngala Safari Lodge. This property has a gorgeous setting under a canopy of tamboti trees, with breathtaking views out over the seasonal Timbavati river. The communal lounge and dining spaces are both cosy and stylish, while the outdoor areas include a traditional boma and a sparkling swimming pool flanked by comfortable sunloungers! The property also has a spa and a gym. You’ll spend three nights in a standard cottage, which features a comfortable double bedroom, en-suite full bathroom, and private courtyard with open-air shower, beautifully lantern-lit at night. Activities from Ngala focus on morning and afternoon/evening game drives as well as walking safaris, but tracking, rhino notching, and photographic safaris are available too, in the wildlife-rich Big Five Ngala Reserve.

The last part of your honeymoon takes place in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. You’ll transfer by private road transfer from Ngala Safari Lodge to Kirkman’s Kamp. This property is an old homestead, dating back to the 1920s and renowned for its abundant charm. The lounge and dining areas are truly sumptuous, with views out on to rolling lawns. Within the gardens, there’s a stunning infinity pool, which overlooks Kirkman’s Reserve. All of the Kamp’s 18 luxurious suites have impressive vistas too. They merge old-world character and modern comforts to excellent effect! We love the glamorous en-suite bathrooms, featuring a big claw-foot tub. Kirkman’s activities include morning and afternoon game drives, tracking, and photographic safaris. Private safaris are available too! There is loads of wildlife to view in the reserve – all Big Five and all sorts of other predators and herbivores. And the birding is something really special!
