The three properties we use for the trip are Kensington Place, Le Quartier Français, and Lion Sands River Lodge. Kensington Place is a stylish boutique hotel located on the slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain. Le Quartier Français is another boutique hotel, a charming property in the lovely village of Franschhoek. Finally, Lion Sands River Lodge offers comfortable accommodation in the southern section of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, adjacent to Kruger National Park. All properties have a highly exclusive feel!

Kensington Place offers a fabulous base from which to venture out on excursions in and around Cape Town. While at Le Quartier Français, you can enjoy a wide range of Franschhoek’s attractions, not least its restaurants, shops, museums, and galleries. And activities from Lion Sands include classic guided game drives and walking safaris, during which you can look out for all Big Five, numerous smaller mammals, and ample birdlife too.

Days 1–4 Cape Town

On the first day of your trip, you’ll fly out to Cape Town International Airport, receiving a VIP Meet and Greet. From here, you’ll have a private road transfer to Kensington Place. This property is in a leafy suburb of the Mother City, on the slopes of the majestic Table Mountain! The communal areas include a great restaurant and a gorgeous garden with a relaxing plunge pool. You’ll stay in one of the hotel’s eight sumptuous suites, enjoying a king-size bed, well-appointed en-suite facilities including a marble bath, and a private balcony. There are lots of extra touches too, such as an iPod docking station, laptop with free Wi-Fi, and a beach bag with beach towels. Kensington Place is a brilliant base for exploring all the attractions of Cape Town, providing a thrilling start to your vacation!

Days 5–6 The Winelands

The Last Word Franschhoek 2015 (282)

On Day 5, you’ll travel to Le Quartier Français via private road transfer. This boutique hotel is situated in Franschhoek, a lovely village in South Africa’s Winelands. The property is best known for its La Petite Colombe restaurant, which is famous for its world-class cuisine! The lounge is comfy and super-stylish, and Le Quartier also boasts a library, spa, and private cinema. Outside, there is a charming courtyard, complete with swimming pool. The guest rooms and suites overlook this area, benefiting from a wood-burning fire and well-appointed en-suite bathroom too. You’ll spend two nights in an Auberge Room, an option offering a deluxe double bed, spacious seating area with cosy fireplace, en-suite full bathroom, and amazing views! The property has a central location, so you have excellent access to shops, galleries, museums, restaurants, and cafés. Additionally, it is perfectly placed for exploring the Winelands, with biking, hiking, fishing, golf, and estate visits available.

Days 7–9 Sabi Sand Game Reserve

For the final three nights of your trip, you’ll travel from Le Quartier Français to Cape Town International Airport via private road transfer, and fly to Skukuza Airport. From here, you’ll transfer privately to Lion Sands River Lodge. This is a large property within its own reserve, close to the boundary with Kruger National Park. Lion Sands has a very comfortable open-plan lounge and dining area, with breathtaking views of a nearby river. There’s a deck too, where you can watch out for wildlife while enjoying a drink or a meal. You’ll stay in a Luxury Room, which includes a plush double bedroom, en-suite full bathroom, and fantastic private viewing deck! Lion Sands offers a fine assortment of safari activities, including expertly guided game drives, walking safaris, helicopter rides over the Blyde River Canyon, and a romantic night in a treehouse, sleeping under the stars.

Board basis and activities:
All-inclusive accommodation, featuring all meals, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, teas and coffees, in-room mini-bar, two game drives daily with FGASA-accredited field guide and transfer, game drive refreshments and snacks, specified inclusive safari activities, transfers between the lodge and Skukuza Airport, and Wi-Fi in public areas. Specialist activities included comprise game drives, bush walks, hippo experience, stargazing, wildlife lectures, bush breakfasts, picnic lunches, bush dinners, and Henna Pre-School visit (excludes weekends, school vacations, and public vacations).

On the last day of your adventure, you’ll travel from Lion Sands River Lodge to Skukuza Airport. From Skukuza you’ll fly to Johannesburg’s O. R. Tambo International Airport, arriving in good time for your flight/s home.
