Days 1-2 Nairobi

On Day 1, you’ll touch down at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), receiving a VIP Meet and Greet. From here, you’ll travel to Giraffe Manor via private road transfer. This internationally renowned property is run by The Safari Collection, guaranteeing first-class standards of accommodation, food and drink, and service! Its communal spaces include a sumptuous lounge, breakfast room, dining room, and courtyard, as well as grounds featuring sweeping lawns and majestic trees. You’ll enjoy meeting the giraffes in many of these areas, not least in the breakfast room when they poke their heads through the windows to feed from your hand! The accommodation we’ve chosen for you is one of the manor’s superior rooms, which offers a comfortable bedroom, lounge area, well-appointed en-suite washroom, and, depending on which rooms are available, a private patio. Of course the highlight of the stay here for ele fans is visiting the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, but you can also check out the Karen Blixen Museum, the Matbronze Art Gallery, and the crafts complex of Marula Studios.

Days 3-5 Amboseli National Park

On the fourth day of your trip, you’ll have a private road transfer to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport and you’ll fly to Tsavo West / Chyulu Hills airstrip. Once you’ve landed, you’ll have a shared road transfer to Ol Donyo. This classic safari lodge has a lovely location on the south-western side of the Chyulu Hills, within the Mbirikani Group Ranch. Its main building is a very large stone-and-thatch structure, containing a comfortable lounge, library, and dining room. Outside, there’s a sun terrace and a highly inviting swimming pool! You’ll stay in a Standard Pool Suite, which features a private plunge pool and a roof terrace that can accommodate a bed set up under the stars. Activities from Ol Donyo consist of expertly guided game drives and walks, hiking, biking, horse riding, and fly camping. Amboseli is one of the finest destinations for elephant viewing in all Safari Africa, boasting immense concentrations of the grey giants! Some of the last of the continent’s big tuskers may be seen ambling around the park. Other wildlife here includes lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, Maasai giraffe, Grant’s zebra, an exciting assortment of antelopes, and hundreds of birds.

Days 6-8 NAMUNYAK CONSERVANCY

For the final part of your vacation, you’ll return to Tsavo West / Chyulu Hills airstrip and fly back to Wilson Airport, before flying to Samburu Oryx airstrip. From here, you’ll have a private road transfer to Sarara Camp. Positioned in the Namunyak Conservancy within the dramatic Mathews Range, this camp feels way off the tourist trail and it has a great authentic vibe. Its pleasant communal lounge and dining areas occupy timber-and-thatch buildings that merge effortlessly with the surrounding landscape. The camp also has a deck with vistas over a popular waterhole, and your own wallowing spot in the form of a swimming pool! Guest accommodation consists of six spacious tents, all featuring a beautifully furnished bedroom, well-appointed washing facilities, and a private veranda with amazing views. From this fabulous base, you can enjoy vehicle and walking safaris, hiking, pony trekking, village visits, and trips to the Singing Wells. Namunyak’s wildlife includes leopard, wild dog, hyena, reticulated giraffe, antelopes, monkeys, and over five hundred types of bird! But the number one reason to visit for ele lovers is of course the local elephants. The conservancy is home to the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, where you can meet orphan eles.

On the last day, you’ll return to Samburu oryx airstrip via private road transfer and fly back to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. Here you’ll have use of a half-day vehicle, enabling you to visit local curio shops or simply relax and enjoy dinner before heading to JKIA in good time for your flight/s home.
