Group trips with friends or extended family are often the most enjoyable trips our clients ever do! This adventure to the Maasai Mara and the Kenyan coast is a favorite due to its excellent value and guarantee of first-class game viewing.

The adventure begins in Nairobi, at Crowne Plaza Nairobi. This deluxe hotel is situated a short distance from the terminals at the city’s international airport, so it’s very convenient. On Day 2, you’ll fly out to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, to spend a couple of nights at Governors’ Camp. This is one of the reserve’s most established properties, offering comfortable accommodation and superb service. Next up is Kicheche Bush Camp, in the Mara’s Olare Motorogi Conservancy, a simple yet luxurious base from which to explore the wildlife-rich region. Finally, you’ll head to the beach, to Diani’s WaterLovers, a lovely resort with a remote location.

Crowne Plaza is an excellent option for stopovers, with communal facilities including a spa and a swimming pool. At Governors’ Camp, the focus is vehicle safaris – and if you visit the Maasai Mara during the months from July to October you can look out for the huge herds of the Great Migration! The wildlife viewing continues once you’ve arrived at Kicheche, via expertly guided game drives and walks. Both safari camps offer cultural experiences too. And WaterLovers has its very own beach house, with staff on hand to arrange an exciting variety of watersports for you.

Guest accommodation consists of 37 safari tents, each featuring a double bed or twin beds, en-suite shower room, and private veranda. Activities focus on wildlife viewing, with Governors’ offering twice-daily game drives and hot air balloon rides (the latter at extra cost). From this authentic base, you’ll enjoy expertly guided game drives, game walks, and, as at Governors’ Camp, a hot air balloon ride if you wish (at extra cost). Cultural experiences are available too – for example, you could visit the local Maa Trust, to meet local women and observe their beautiful beadwork.

WaterLovers Beach Resort is situated right on the coast, overlooking a blue lagoon. Made out of local timber, stone, and thatch, the property merges seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Communal areas include Tides restaurant, which serves up delicious dishes throughout the day. There’s also a charming turtle-shaped infinity pool! You’ll stay in a spacious suite, a category that comes with a host of mod cons and breathtaking ocean vistas from a private terrace. Numerous watersports are available from WaterLovers’ own beach house, and of course you can take as much time as you like to relax on the scenic beach nearby.
