Our introductory trip to Kenya focuses on the Laikipia Plateau, known for its sense of adventure and incredible scenery, and the game-rich Maasai Mara – the Greater Mara Conservancies in particular.

The safari is designed for the first-time traveller to the region and offers a diverse and memorable safari experience. It’s suitable for solo travellers, couples, honeymooners, and families alike, and it offers a thrilling combination of activities!

The trip involves two fantastic properties. First up is Laikipia’s Ol Malo, followed by Kicheche Bush Camp. The latter is located in the Olare Orok Conservancy, which forms part of the Greater Mara eco-system. Ol Malo is home to the Francombe family and the closest you will get to living on a working farm ranch while on an African safari. Kicheche is the perfect base from which to enjoy all the Maasai Mara has to offer. Days 1–3 Laikipia

On Day 1 of your trip, you’ll touch down at Nairobi’s international airport, receiving a VIP Meet and Greet. From there, you’ll transfer to Wilson Airport and fly out to Loisaba Airstrip (1 hr 30 mins), before your shared road transfer to Ol Malo. Everything about this lodge defines comfort, relaxation, and homeliness. Family run, it has built a reputation as one of the finest in the area for activities, with a team of dedicated and enthusiastic locals who are keen to show off the hidden treasures of their homeland to guests. The guest accommodation here includes four cottages. Constructed from rock and olive wood, each features well-appointed en-suite facilities and picture windows for spectacular views!

Ol Malo is booked on a fully inclusive basis, including all food, drinks, and shared scheduled safari activities. Days are designed by the guides when you arrive in the lodge, with game drives, guided walks, horse rides, camel treks, and Samburu cultural visits (entrance fees payable direct) included in the price.

Days 4–7 Greater Mara Conservancies

After three nights at Ol Malo, you’ll return to Loisaba Airstrip via shared road transfer and fly out to the Maasai Mara (1 hr 45 mins), landing at Olare Orok Airstrip. From here, you’ll have a shared road transfer to Kicheche Bush Camp. This property is a small and intimate authentic bush camp, offering a quintessential safari experience. Fabulously located in a game-rich conservancy, it offers ample wildlife-viewing opportunities – with the added draw of a professional photographer! The guiding here is top notch. Guest accommodation is made up of just six safari tents, all with open-plan bedroom and lounge area, in addition to a smart en-suite shower room.

Kicheche Bush Camp is booked on an a game-package basis, including all food, drinks, and shared scheduled safari activities. Days are designed by the guides when you arrive in the camp, with standard game drives and guided walks included in the price.
