Abbey Manor is situated in a serene suburb of Cape Town, with easy access to an exhilarating range of attractions such as Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, and Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. Avondrood is just as conveniently located within Franschhoek, very close to the town’s restaurants, cafés, shops, and more. Ngala’s focus is vehicle and walking safaris, but tracking, rhino notching, and even photographic safaris are available too! Days 1–4 Cape Town

On the first day of your vacation, you’ll touch down at Cape Town International Airport, receiving a VIP Meet & Greet. From here, you’ll travel to Abbey Manor Luxury Guesthouse via private road transfer. This property, a charming Georgian house, is situated in the quiet and affluent suburb of Oranjezicht. Communal spaces include a sumptuous lounge, a rooftop terrace, and a solar-heated swimming pool! The accommodation option we’ve chosen for you is the luxury room, which features a spacious bedroom, a host of in-room amenities, well-appointed en-suite facilities, and an amazing view over the Mother City. From this luxurious base, you can visit Cape Town’s main attractions – Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, and a wide range of shops, restaurants, markets, museums, and more!

Days 5–6 The Winelands

On Day 5, you’ll leave Abbey Manor Luxury Guesthouse and you’ll have a private road transfer to Franschhoek, for Avondrood Guest House. This lovingly restored Victorian building is located a short distance from the town centre, on Huguenot Street. As soon as you’ve arrived, you can relax in the welcoming communal areas, which include a large lounge, well-stocked bar, veranda, and gardens complete with Jacuzzi and swimming pool! You’ll stay in a luxury room, which comes with a pleasant bedroom, separate seating area, en-suite full bathroom (with Victorian bath), and gorgeous views of the gardens. The shops, eateries, bars, galleries, and museums of Franschhoek are all a short distance from the guesthouse. If you’d like to venture farther afield, hikes and bike trips can be arranged for you. Fishing and golf are possible too – please ask a member of the YZ team for information.

Days 7–9 Timbavati Private Game Reserve

Now it’s time for the safari element of your trip! You’ll leave Avondrood Guest House and return to Cape Town’s international airport via private road transfer, before boarding a flight bound for Hoedspruit Airport. Once you’ve arrived, you’ll have another private road transfer to Ngala Safari Lodge. Owned and operated by luxury safari company &Beyond, this property has a gorgeous location amidst tamboti trees and overlooking the Timbavati’s seasonal river, within the Ngala Reserve. The communal lodge is made out of timber, stone, and thatch, lending a distinct safari feel. The lounge and dining spaces are both chic and cosy, while the outdoor areas feature an authentic boma for meals and a big swimming pool! There’s a spa too, as well as a gym. Guest accommodation consists of 20 rooms, each within a semi-detached cottage. Elegantly furnished, every cottage features a private veranda, where you can relax and marvel at river views. Activities include expertly guided game drives, walking safaris, tracking, rhino notching, and photographic safaris. The Ngala Reserve is home to all Big Five – lion, rhino, leopard, elephant, and buffalo – in addition to numerous smaller predators and herbivores, and over 350 species of bird!

All-inclusive accommodation, featuring all meals, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, scheduled safari activities, 1-hour nature walk accompanied by experienced armed trackers (subject to availability), transfers between the lodge and the local airstrip, and a laundry service.

Days 10–12 Sabi Sands Game Reserve

The final few days of your vacation are spent at the Sabi Sands’ Kirkman’s Kamp. You’ll travel from Ngala Safari Lodge to this property via private road transfer. Kirkman’s is a top pick for travellers in favour of the colonial style. The colonial lodge contains a 1920s-era lounge, library, dining room, and bar with a hunting theme. At the back of the building there’s a wide deck, where you can relax and look out for passing wildlife. There’s a very inviting rim-flow swimming pool too. Accommodation takes the form of 18 cottages, each offering a comfy bedroom, en-suite full bathroom and two verandas with breathtaking views. The camp’s activities include vehicle and walking safaris, local community visits, and specialist star photography lessons. Among the wildlife highlights of the Sabi Sands are all Big Five, lots of smaller predators and herbivores, and ample birdlife.

All-inclusive accommodation, featuring all meals, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, twice-daily game drives, once-daily bush walk, and transfers between the hotel and Skukuza Airport.

On the last day, you’ll leave Kirkman’s Kamp and have a private road transfer to Skukuza Airport. Here you’ll catch a flight to Johannesburg’s O. R. Tambo International Airport, arriving in good time for your flight/s home.
