Days 1–4 Cape Town

Your introduction to South Africa starts with a four-night stay at the iconic Twelve Apostles Hotel. Just 20 minutes from the city centre, the hotel occupies an enviable spot on Cape Town’s most scenic route. It sits poised above the Atlantic, offering unimpeded ocean views, and is set against the dramatic backdrop of the 12 Apostle mountains. Decorated in an elegant and contemporary African style, it also boasts the fabulous Azure Restaurant, a luxury spa, and a small private cinema.

Days 5–6 The Winelands

2.Babylonstoren kitchen garden, Simonsberg

Heading out of Cape Town towards the Winelands brings you to Babylonstoren, a boutique hotel situated in the centre of the Winelands ‘golden triangle’ between Paarl, Stellenbosch, and Franschhoek. This fantastic property is actually a fully working wine farm in the traditional Cape Dutch style. It has just 14 beautifully restored cottages set among stunning gardens. At the farm's renowned Babel restaurant, guests are treated to fantastic organic fare, with produce coming directly from the gardens – this follows the hotel's ‘farm to fork’ philosophy.

Days 7–9 Timbavati Private Game Reserve

03. TANDA TULA SAFARI CAMP RIVER VIEW

Departing from the Winelands, we fly to the Timbavati Game Reserve for a three-night stay in one of South Africa’s finest private game reserves. Bordering the western edge of Kruger National Park, the boundary is completely unfenced, allowing for the free movement of game between the park and the reserve – this makes for a phenomenal safari experience.

Tanda Tula is located in the heart of the Timbavati and has views over a seasonal river, the bushveld, and an active waterhole. The lodge has just 12 secluded luxury tents, which offer guests a truly authentic experience, very much reminiscent of the romantic safari of days gone by.

The camp is booked on an all-inclusive basis including all food, drinks, and shared scheduled safari activities. Days are designed by the guides when you arrive in the camp, with standard game drives by day and night available as well as nature walks.

Days 10–12 Sabi Sand Game Reserve

Travelling south of the Timbavati, the second and final part of your safari takes you to the magnificent Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, arguably the best Big Five reserve in the country. Again sharing an unfenced border with the Kruger, the game viewing in the Sabi Sand is second to none, and the reserve is particularly renowned for its leopard sightings.

Here you will enjoy a three-night stay at Dulini Leadwood Lodge, a truly beautiful property offering the ultimate high-end experience. The Lodge takes its name from the towering leadwood trees that can be found standing sentinel among the rooms and communal areas. Guests can also enjoy sensational views over the confluence of the Sand and Mbarak below the lodge. With just three expansive and beautifully decorated suites, each with a private plunge pool and deck, Dulini Leadwood offers a unique and intimate safari experience that will not be forgotten.
