Botswana Honeymoon Safari (9n) – Value

On Day 1 of your honeymoon, you will fly out to Livingstone and transfer by road to Victoria Falls Hotel. This is a very grand property, situated within elegant gardens. The sumptuous communal area include lounges, three restaurants, a spa, a salon, a curio shop, two tennis courts, and a spacious swimming pool! You will stay in a Central Deluxe Room, with the option to upgrade to a Honeymoon Suite. Both categories are very well appointed, featuring amenities such as full air conditioning, satellite television, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and a mini-bar. The Central Deluxe Room is situated in the main building, whereas the Honeymoon Suite occupies the Stables Signature Wing and includes a few little extras such as a romantic turndown and a bottle of sparkling wine! When you are ready to explore the Falls and surrounds, you need only pop down to the Hotel’s Activities Centre. Here, staff members are happy to arrange a range of wet-and-wild watersports, in addition to river cruises, village visits, scenic flights by helicopter and microlight, and elephant-back safaris in Victoria Falls National Park.

For the next part of your honeymoon, you will fly to the Okavango Delta! Here, you will stay at Khwai Tented Camp. Situated close to the Moremi Game Reserve, this is an eco-friendly camp that uses solar power. It was once a mobile camp, but these days it has a permanent position on one side of a lagoon that flows into the Khwai river. The communal lodge, made out of wood and canvas, is raised above ground to maximise views of the river and its deck has some pleasant seating and dining spaces. Inside, there is an equally lovely lounge and dining room. Guest accommodation comprises six Meru-style tents. These are spacious and with all the amenities you could desire for a comfortable stay, such as a fan apiece, snug bedding, and en-suite facilities including flush toilet and bucket shower! The camp offers an excellent selection of safari activities – game drives, night drives, walking safaris, and bird watching. The Moremi Game Reserve is renowned for its predator concentrations – lion, leopard, cheetah, and wild dog. However, there are plenty of herbivores too, including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and huge hippos! And if you are keen birders, you will love looking out for more than 500 types of feathery friend.

The final days of your honeymoon are spent at Meno A Kwena, a classic and characterful camp approximately 2 hours’ drive from the Makgadikgadi Pans. You will fly here from the Delta. The property is situated on top of a hill over the Boteti river and the views are absolutely amazing! The lounge, dining space, and bar are all set up under canvas, and there is also a large fire-pit on site. Farther down the hill, a natural rock pool provides the perfect place to cool off while admiring scenes of the river. Meno a Kwena has nine tents, all positioned to make the most of the camp’s fabulous location! The accommodation is great value, featuring comfy beds, en-suite safari showers, and a private veranda where you can relax together and enjoy watching out for wildlife. The camp’s floating hide is also great for spotting all the animals on the river. Meno a Kwena offers safari experiences in a variety of locations, from the Boteti river to the Makgadikgadi Pans and Nxai Pans national parks, and from the Central Kalahari Game Reserve to the haunts of the Bushmen too! A stay here makes for a very grand finale to your honeymoon.
