Pom Pom offers remarkably good value for a very good game experience in a private Okavango reserve. It does not offer the luxury of more expensive camps, but it is still extremely comfortable. The best value private reserve in the Delta.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Pom Pom is located on its own island in a scenic part of the Okavango Delta by the western border of the Moremi Game Reserve. It is well situated under some shady trees overlooking a beautiful lagoon.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES:
The main camp looks out over floodplains and has rather an adventurous feel to it. It is made of canvas with a thatched roof, and consists of a lounge, a dining area, a bar, and a boma for eating outside. There is also a swimming pool where guests can cool off during a hot afternoon. Accommodation is in nine classic safari-style tents, one of which is larger and accommodates a group of four people. They each have an open-air ensuite bathroom.
The game-viewing is really good here, with a large number of predators, big game and plains animals all year round. When the Delta is in full flood the reserve has more water activities than dry, but one of the reasons we love this property is due to the fact it is always capable of offering guests the full range of Okavango activities - game drives at day and night as well as the water activities (including mokoro) the Delta is so famous for.
